Despite my somewhat indifferent review of the show, I really did enjoy the ending. For this reason, I did not like watching Attack on Titan or Death Note as much as I would have if there were real people playing the roles. I am not someone who is opposed to watching actual gory films or shows, yet if it is animated it will instantly give me a headache. I typically feel sick after watching animated shows for a while, especially if they are dull colored and pretty gory. I was not a huge fan of the show, I still am not, but that scene is the whole reason why I liked the anime. Despite the disappointment I felt after Light died, I thoroughly enjoyed the ending. I guess I was expecting Light to live on, I am not sure. I don’t know how I did not see that coming, but it was really shocking for me. Upon first reading this I instantly thought of Death Note‘s ending, where (spoiler alert) Light ends up dying. Light has a field day filling up as many pages as possible, leaving a bloody trail on his path to godhood, and even though he is responsible for most of the murders in the story, there's plenty to go around.
